1. Be fearless & Grow As a leader

Ralien Bekkers said, “Inspire others to take action by showing your own action, commitment and good work for a better world. Make it easy for people to step in and join forces if they want to help.”

Beconfident, but be careful to not confuse confidence with arrogance. To do this, you need to fully know what you are talking about. When you do speak, speak with conviction.

Leadership is about vision. It’s about giving new or original perspectives to things. One who has his own understanding and interpretation of things will distinguish himself from others. Thinking for yourself implies not taking anything for a fact. Always look for a personal explanation or interpretation. In order to gain that personal distance and understanding, one should never rely on others knowledge, work or judgment.

2. Figure out your goals in life and work toward them

Les Brown said, “Your goals are the road maps that guide you and show you what is possible for your life.”

Start thinking about careers you would like to be in, but make a good choice based on your interests and strengths. This could be your job for the rest of your life! You could also work towards non-career-related goals, such as creating your own fundraiser, getting good grades in school, joining a team sport, etc. Challenge yourself and you’ll be surprised what you can accomplish!

Many of us believe life will be better by reaching those goals, so we make our plans, put our nose to the grindstone, and work our butts off until we’re there.

3. Always maintain a positive mental attitude

Thomas Jefferson said,“Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.”

Like the above quote says, you need to trust in your ability to succeed. This is the only way to cultivate the right mindset.

Replace negative thoughts with the positive ones. You need to approach problems, not as obstacles stopping you, but merely tasks that need to be completed for you to keep going.

If you stay positive and think like this, setbacks won’t affect you so much, people’s doubts won’t impact you and even the biggest obstacles will seem like minor problems.

However with the wrong mindset of doubt, you’ll be much easier to stop. 

4. Get rid of distractions

Sharon Salzberg said “Distraction wastes our energy, concentration restores it.“

Meaningless things and distractions will always be in your way, especially those easy, usual things you would rather do instead of focusing on new challening and meaningful projects. Learn to focus on what is the most important. Write a list of time-wasters and hold yourself accountable to not do them.

5. Surround yourself with amazing people

Karl Marx said “Surround yourself with people who make you happy. People who make you laugh, who help you when you’re in need. People who genuinely care. They are the ones worth keeping in your life. Everyone else is just passing through.”

Most of us are taught from an early age to think and do things similarly to everyone else. This can be great to fill an existing role. But to truly do things differently (and all successful people did things differently), you need to think differently.

If you have a new idea, don’t throw it away because it’s new and different; instead, celebrate it. Your strange new idea might one day be the one that leads you to success.

8. Be a person of action

Roy T. Bennett said, “Dreams don’t work unless you take action. The surest way to make your dreams come true is to live them.”

All of us have got some dreams and desires in our minds; something that we wish to happen in the future or someone that we desire to be. But often these dreams are left unfulfilled. All credits to that simple yet strong trust on the fate one has, people lack the major factor to achieve their goals, that is hard work. A mere fixation of a dream in the mind does not work. This needs to be backed up with a strong dedication in the mindset to conquer the goal.

it is not the goal you set that matters, but the hard work you do for the same. Not a single dream can be achieved without putting in the necessary efforts. It is, therefore, wiser to give the best output from one’s side in order to achieve the dreams rather than blaming the luck in the later phase. Not a single dream is unachievable unless it is backed up with perfect passion.

9. Do not be afraid of failure

Henry Ford said, “Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.”

Have you ever been so afraid of failing at something that you decided not to try it at all? Or has a fear of failure meant that, subconsciously, you undermined your own efforts to avoid the possibility of a larger failure?

Many of us have probably experienced this at one time or another. The fear of failing can be immobilizing – it can cause us to do nothing, and therefore resist moving forward. But when we allow fear to stop our forward progress in life, we’re likely to miss some great opportunities along the way.

10. Choose your friends wisely

The old adage says it all “A man is known by the company he keeps.”

Never hang out with someone who doesn’t make you feel comfortable. Be with people who make you happy, and ditch the ones who don’t. Create a group of supportive, loving friends that can help you succeed in life and live your dreams.
